How was your summer? Feeling relaxed? Or feeling anxious that "back to school" season is just around the corner and end-of-year goals are looming (or dooming)?
In the next 12 days, I'll be introducing you to the 12 archetypes of the Wounded Child Identity Matrix, one per day.
Because even though my client Marie has a very successful brand and 100,000 subscribers, when we drill and drill and drill and drill and drill down to the root of her poverty consciousness, it's the "I am a failure" child that runs her company (and lack of profits).
Because even though my client Wendy has an offer for a publishing deal and 3 speaking opportunities, she can't write or speak a single word because her "I am a mistake" child shuts her mouth with perfectionism duct tape.
Because even though my client Olivia owns and runs a global leadership academy, her "I am insufficient" child spends 58 minutes of each hour spewing out 6,000 to-do lists to keep her in tsunami after tsunami of paralyzing overwhelm.
Maybe you are Marie, Wendy or Olivia... or a combination of.
SYMPTOMS + PERPETUATING BEHAVIORS
Do you recognize these symptoms or behaviors that perpetuate the wound?
🌀 Suffer from hyper-vigilance, always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
🌀 Overly naïve, trusting, and disclosing of intimate details before others have earned my trust, thus attracting narcissists, sociopaths and/or con artists who take advantage of my openness.
🌀 Take a lot of uncalculated risks, living close to the edge, with few safety nets.
🌀 Enmesh too quickly in intimate relationships, without taking time to know others or set wholesome boundaries.
🌀 Perceive much of what others say / do as threatening to my safety, even my life.
🌀 Unknowingly push others away, suspecting their motives and/or looking for ill intent
False Identities to Release
🗝 I am not safe
🗝 I am unprotected
🗝 I am unsafe
Maturation + Integration Practices
If you do recognize yourself in this identity matrix, here are some practices to maturate and integrate that wounded child.
🌹 Generate and source safety within my relationships with myself, in order to trust my ability to assert boundaries, ask for clarity, make valid and compelling requests, and create safety nets.
🌹 Generate and source safety within my spiritual relationships with the Universe.
🌹 Take time to discern and trust people/situations before diving all in and only after they have repeatedly demonstrated their trustworthiness.
Viewed through sacred lenses, your deepest wounds become your greatest gifts.
