Her Many Hats

Coach / Mindfulness Specialist / DIY Destiny Creator / Writer / Single Mom / Parent Volunteer / Kettle Chip Enthusiast

First moment of enlightenment

When I was living in India I visited Varanasi and had an experience that went right to the core of me. I was watching a burning funeral pyre on the Ganges and a group of women were washing their clothes on the ghats. I was deeply moved by the holy right next to the ordinary.

F*ck this shit moment

Ha! This happens daily with a 3 and 5-year-old! For someone who craves quiet, the chaos of two little ones can be overwhelming. This need for peace inspired "Peanut Butter Spoons" (there is no noise while eating PB off a spoon!) and hide-and-seek games where I hide in the closet peacefully for 10 minutes. You do what you gotta do to get the peace you gotta get!

Books that transformed her life

A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and all of the Harry Potter books.

Note from Ella • Jen is one of the badest badasses I've ever met. Her courage in the face of torrential adversity, her unshakable integrity to who her soul truly is, and her larger-than-life poetic sass makes her: 1. one of my most inspiring students/clients and 2. the IDEAL guide and catalyst for your own DIY Destiny! Thank you Tia and CTI for bringing us together!

About Her

One of the hardest moments of her life?

Getting divorced. My deep hope and vision for family were the strongest of all my dreams. Choosing to dismantle them, the family and the dream, in favor of a future I couldn't even yet articulate, was gut-wrenching and heart-breaking. This is not something you overcome. This kind of loss takes up residence in your heart. So you rent a room to grief. Then, over time, you rent more and more rooms to your new life vision. And in that way, you become inspired to create anew.

What used to terrify her?

I used to panic every time I'd press send on a broadcast. Letting fear have its say and then doing it anyway was the solution.

Superpower

I connect seemingly disparate ideas into a fluid concept, like a jigsaw puzzle whose missing pieces were just found.

Grateful to her top BFFs

My two sisters are my best friends. Thanks for the ceaseless love and giggle fests, sista loves.

About her Business

About her business (5 words or less)

Create your own destiny

Mastermind Topic

How to recalibrate your Inner Knowing so that you make the absolute best decisions for yourSELF.

Biggest leap of faith taken in her business?

Quitting my corporate job after my second baby to start my business. I didn't have a single client lead! Major faith leap.

MOST THRILLING "HIGH"? MOST CHALLENGING "LOW"?

High It's deeply thrilling to hear a client say "That's it! THAT'S what I want to do with my life!". I freakin' love that.

Low The most challenging part is being my own cheerleader. There's not a single person (except entrepreneurs!) that understands just how much heart, soul, and sweat go into building a business. Sometimes I have to sit myself down and write a big list of all the things I'm doing well to build myself back up.

False advice being taught in her industry

That your dreams will fulfill you. Honouring yourSELF brings fulfillment, which happens en route to your dreams.

What does She need to do less of in Her business?

There's always more multi-tasking I can diminish. Compartmentalization is critical to go deep with my business or with my kids.

HOW DID SHE OVERCOME HER FEAR OF SELLING?

I don't sell. I make offers, which are invitations. It's fine if someone doesn't come to the party. And cool if they do.

Hardest part about being a trailblazer?

Fear of the unknown. It takes a lot of reframing to become ok with not knowing the terrain I'm traversing.

What's Next for Her?

DIY Destiny doors are OPEN until Sept 29th! Nail down that *thing* you're meant for.
