After stepping foot in 104 sovereign nations, with my coaching practice in tow, here are 14 lessons I learned, across so many cultures, about becoming happy, about being happy.
This is Part 2/2 of What Marketing Stra
Every business needs a welcome video that encapsulates who you are, what you do, who your business is (brand) and what it does.
Those with an unhealed inner orphan behave with money exactly like adopted children behave with food. Adopted children raised in scarcity, even if adopted into secure loving homes, continue to hoard half eaten apples under their beds or binge on meals thinking there won't be any more coming. Can you relate?
When we daydreamed about, stumbled upon or leapt into entrepreneurship, never did we ever declare, "When I grow up, I want to be sooooo busy that I end up in the hospital!"
Yet, in our fast paced, comparison prone culture, as we attempt to navigate business, we often get swept up by busyness, the illusion that if we just do more (even if it's random and unnecessary), we will be worth more... in the eyes of others.
This lesson guides founders, overachievers, trailblazers and entrepreneurs on:
- how to shift your relationship with time and
- how to set your business up for success by creating more free time.
So I wonder what the telling of a Liberator's Journey would look like... From thousands of conversations, interviews and coaching sessions with our tribe of women founders, overachievers and trailblazers, this is what I've discovered :O
Last week, I wrote about Joseph Campbell's The Hero's Journey and how it fits with lifestyle freedom for us globetrotting overachieving women freedompreneurs.
My mind understood his model, but my heart knew something was missing. I found THE missing piece when a coaching colleague posted a quote from Maureen Murdock's The Heroine's Journey. Boom!
Do you know Joseph Campbell's The Hero's Journey? I've been on this loopy loop many times when I moved to Rwanda, uprooted my entire life to NYC in 7 days, took my coaching business to 16 countries in 16 weeks...
When you convert strangers into clients, it's a hit or miss. It's a binary relationship: yay or nay. Most of the time, it's a nay.
When you convert strangers into friends, it's always a hit. Friends like friends. Friends get value from friends. It's a quantum relationship in every direction! They stay friends, tell others about your work, become loyal readers, transform into raving fans, serve as word of mouth marketing, and maybe even become clients someday... because you read their minds and gave them what they needed... not because you tried to sell them something.

How do you put into words such a transcendental Ayahuasca plant medicine experience?
Stop walking through the world looking for confirmation that you don't belong. You will always find it because you've made that your mission. Stop scouring people's faces for evidence you're not enough. You will always find it because you've made that your goal.
COUNTING COUNTRIES is the only podcast to bring you the stories from the dedicated few (~ 100 ppl) on a quest to travel every sovereign country in the world. More people have been to outer space than to every country in the world!!!
Words you need to hear, in case no one ever told you...
The five times I've done a negative money memory purge, I've burnt the paper and released the past. Before I ran to burn it, I noticed how each scarring incident had, with time, transmuted itself into a lesson or superpower.
A negative incident related to money can scar or even traumatize a child. Just because our body has aged chronologically, it doesn't mean the child has recovered from the incident. It could take days, but more often, it takes decades.
The first time I did a negative money memory purge, I burnt 148 memories. Second time, I burnt 62. Third time, there were 36 memories. These 36 memories helped me see how some lessons take days, but most take decades.
I lined up 5 interviews in 5 days in NYC. On day 5 I, got a job offer, found an apartment, flew home on day 6, packed and moved my life to NYC on day 7. No faffin' around!
"We don't have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to." – Brené Brown. This marketing thing, you can't do it alone. You were never meant to. Here are top 3 lessons fom branding genius, Anne Scott. Fainting included.
This is how I meet my Leadership tribes... Firstly, it took me about a year to complete the CTI coach training (instead of regular 5 months) because people in my life kept dying and nothing grows in the swampland of grief.
My lifestyle was co-created. With courage. Which came from my tribe. This part I didn't do alone. The fear was shed solo. With much pain. Which was made possible with love from my tribe. This part I had to do alone.
